I had a fantastic time developing Marshall's parade balloon concept for the 98th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Designing a flying version of everyone's favorite Dalmatian came with some unique challenges.

My process centered on translating Marshall's defining features into a technically sound balloon structure with strategically placed air chambers. Through multiple iterations, each element was refined to ensure optimal visibility from both street level and broadcast perspectives, while maintaining structural integrity.

To help me emulate his personality when sculpting, I watched some of his key episodes. This helped me conclude that, much like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, his true heroism shines through despite, or perhaps because of, his endearing clumsiness.
